Learn what’s getting in the way and what to focus on next.
Short, practical training you can watch in under 20 minutes
If you’ve been trying to help your child and nothing seems to be working, you’re not alone
You might be talking more, reading more, trying to get them to say words and still wondering why nothing is changing.
It’s frustrating and honestly, confusing. Because it feels like you should be seeing progress by now.
But when progress isn’t happening, it’s usually not about doing more
It’s about focusing on the right things first.

In this free training, you’ll start to see what’s getting in the way and what to pay attention to:
- Why the things you’ve been trying haven’t led to progress
- What skills need to be in place before words can develop
- How your child’s engagement, understanding, and interaction affect communication
- How to recognize what your child may need next
So you can start to feel more confident about what your child needs next
If you’ve been trying everything and still not seeing progress, there’s a reason
Most parents try things like:
- labeling more
- reading more
- asking their child to say words
But what actually matters more is:
- how your child engages with you
- what your child understands
- how your child communicates during everyday routines
When those are not in place yet, the usual strategies do not lead to progress. When these skills start to come together, communication becomes much easier to build.
About the Creator
I’m Jill Urbane, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent nearly three decades working in early intervention with infants and toddlers with developmental delays, including communication delays. Not in a clinic, but in their homes, inside their everyday routines.
That experience has shown me that language does not grow in isolation. It grows through connection, understanding, and interaction in everyday life.
And that’s why I take a whole-child approach
looking at how children learn, engage, and interact before words even begin.
That’s what I’m going to help you start to see in this training.
You don’t need to keep guessing what to try next
There’s a reason this has felt confusing. Once you start to see what’s actually getting in the way, things begin to make sense.
